BJ Membership Info

If you would like to renew or get a BJ Membership, Kerry Gendreau (508-833-0207) is organizing it for us. The HT Wing PTA will receive $5.00 with each $35.00 membership fee. It is a 15 month membership and your existing one will be extended accordingly. The closing date is Nov 5th. Pick up a form outside the main school office or download one here.

A Special Evening With Dr. David Elkind
Monday Nov. 3rd, 7:00pm
Sandwich High School

Please join us for a very special talk with Dr. David Elkind, author of "The Hurried Child" and "The Power of Play".  He will discuss the importance of unstructured, creative play in childhood.

This is a free program, no registration is required. 

Dr. David Elkind is a leading child-development expert and President Emeritus of the National Association for the Education of Young Children as well as Professor Emeritus of Tufts University. Over the past two decades, he has published a number of books on child development, including his classic work, The Hurried Child.   His latest book, The Power of Play; Learning What Comes Naturally, explores with thoughtful analysis and solid examples how unscheduled, imaginative play helps forge a solid and lasting path for both academic and social success for children.

The talk will be followed by a book signing and reception.  Books will be available for sale before the event at Titcomb's Bookshop and also available at the high school during the event. 

Free refreshments will be served courtesy of The Early Childhood Community Partnership of Sandwich.
